Wonderland is the oldest continuously operated, Black-founded school in Houston. Every day since its opening in 1966, Wonderland has helped students achieve greatness, even in the face of adversity. Wonderland Inc. operates both the Wonderland Private School, providing a comprehensive education to children ages 18 months to four years; and the Beatrice Mayes Institute, a K-8 charter school preparing its students to succeed in high school, college and beyond to achieve their professional and personal goals— and help create a better world as engaged citizens and community influencers.
